On Problem 1 solution, why is (1/2)mVcm not squared like it is in the starting conservation of energy equation?

ReplyDeleteIn (2) the first term after the first equals sign should be (1/2)mv_cm^2 ...
The final answer is right, but in (2) I have M instead of m also.
Are the problems going to be this hard on the test?
ReplyDeleteNo, not quite as hard. The theory is if you can do the practice problems, you should be totally fine on the exam ...

Will you be posting a past exam for this test as well?
ReplyDeleteWell, that's where I stole most of the practice problems from :-) You can dig around here though, exam 2 and the final have some relevant bits.
